Southern Italy has a proud wine history. The area has produced wine for over 4,000 years. In 2000 B.C. when Venetian traders arrived in what's known today as the region of Puglia, a local wine industry was already thriving. The Romans too delighted in the wines of the Puglia Region. Puglia, known as Italy's wine lake, produces over 100 Million cases of wine annually.
The dry and sunny climate mixed with the flat geography make Puglia an ideal location for producing quality wines in an economical fashion. Puglia Imports operates by the same philosophy providing high quality wines and cordials at consumer friendly prices.
The company was founded by ex wine and liquor retailers conscious of the constraining margins of the industry. Puglia wines are discovered in their native environment by our experienced wine experts and imported directly by our company. With the middle man removed puglia wines are inexpensive for the customer while maintaining a more than desirable mark-up for the retailer.
Our warehouse is centrally located in Waterbury, CT where our wide selection of 150 plus varierties of wine are stored at a constant 54 degrees. We attribute the quadrupling of our business in the last 4 years to the our strong customer relationshipswe have built, the service we provide and the quality and diversity of our wines and cordials.
