PENALOLEN
2006 Caberernet Sauvignon
Maipo Valley
"Dark and fleshy, with roasted coffee, bittersweet cocoa, loam blackberry all held together by a nice graphite edge on the finish. Rock-solid expression of Maipo Cab in a quality vintage."

Limoncello di Puglia Lemon Liqueur
(Italy; Puglia Inc.,Brookfield, CT) 30% abv. $15
"The pleasant aroma offers a tart, lemon zest scent in the opening sniffings and then turns waxy after aeration. The palate entry is
bitter, citric acidy. and extremely tart but then turns richly lemony and hard candy-like at midpalate, providing a good balance between the lemon, the acid and alcohol. Ends up supremely lemony and astringent."

Amaretto di Puglia
28% abv.
"The lovely tawny/bronze color is bright and pure; the assertive bouquet opens up with hearty, bittersweet scents of almond and apricot stone. The palate entry is lush, firm in texture and richly sweet, but not in the least cloying or syrupy --
the midpalate is toasty, warm, intensely nutty and silky; the finish is medium-long, more nutty than apricot-like and downright luscious."
